Music magazine case study-Billboard

Billboard is a magazine that’s issues come out weekly. It is devoted to the music industry and is one of the oldest trade magazines in the world. It concentrates on music in America. The billboard 200 is based on albums being sold and there usually a mix of urban, rock, country, jazz, Latin, Christian, international and other. The hot 100 are singles and tracks released from artists and they are based on pop, adult, dance, urban, rock, Latin, Christian, other, and international. It continues with several internationally recognizable music charts. The tracks, the albums, in various categories each week . the two most notable are the hot 100 which has songs that rank from 1 – 100 despite the genres which are mixed. This is based on physical sales, radio sales, and radio airplay. The billboard 200 is the corresponding chart for album sales. The magazine was founded in 1894 by William H. Donaldson and James H. Hennegan as a publication as billposting and advertising business. Billboard first became known in January 4^th 1936 when it published its first music hit parade, and on July 20, 1940 the first music popularity chart was populated. The magazine is keeping up with the media by having apps on iPhones, android phones, ipads and iPods etc. also it keeps up with the media by having its own website which provides information about the company. Billboard magazine publishes about, news, analysis trend reporting and other key features as well as the standard hot 100, and billboard 200. Billboard.com is the website that which more than 4 million people each month within 100 countries view this website, an ever increasing dedication of the music from the fans.  Billboards have a few partnerships now to help promote the website, the magazine etc. some of these partnerships would be Fox-TV, Microsoft, Sirius Satellite Radio, Azteca America, and Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems there are also a few more.  I think that this magazine catches the eyes of viewers because every week thay have a new picture of someone else, usually someone who has done really good in the past week or if they have just released an album or something.
