Technology Annotation

Photoshop
I have used Photoshop for a lot of my work as it’s a very easy way of editing things and has a few tools that can make you edit what is needed. It took me a while to pick up how to use everything what was needed but in the end I benefitted from it. Photoshop isn’t always a safe and secure programme to use as it’s free and could crash at any time or make the computer you’re using go slow. To add to this just say if when you add a text box and your writing something, then it won’t pick up errors of spelling which doesn’t help that much. This has helped a lot with the creating and editing of my work from when I took some of my photos and the lighting in the room wasn’t very, I could make the whole image how I wanted or automatically change it to how Photoshop thought it should be by using, auto tone, auto contrast etc.

Blogger
I have used blogger to store my work on when it’s finished as it is an easy way to keep it all organized and easy to view. There are disadvantages to this as it a free online programme which means the site could get shut down and the all the work stored there is gone. Also blogger isn’t private so whatever is posted on it anyone can see. Some advantages of this is that you can have as many posts as you want and if there labelled then it’s a nice easy way to see what you want from it. Blogger is also good for some last minute work as you can edit the text, the photos etc.

Flickr
Flickr is a programme online which is free to use but still have to sign up. Some disadvantages of this are that it could shut down and it can freeze quite easily. This usually uploads photos pretty quick but sometimes it doesn’t finish uploading, once it does this you have to keep refreshing it until it works, so it wastes a bit of time like that. Some advantages of this are that it’s really easy to analyse photos or any work uploaded to this. You can also upload as much stuff as you like. You can add notes, tags and more to the uploads and can post the work done on that to blogger which helps quite a lot.

Issuu
Issuu is a programme online which converts word documents and PowerPoint’s into flipbooks. This is useful as it’s a lot easier the changing it all into a PDF and downloading it to upload it to blogger. There could be things that go wrong with this such as it might not load, could crash which wastes time. Luckily for me it didn’t so I had no problem with this. This was good as well because it looks much nicer presented once it’s done and is quite tidy.

Da Font
Da Font is a very useful website which provides so many font types that can be personalised to suit you or how you want it to be. So when you’re finished and have got the one or more that you want you just download then open it with whatever programme you want it for. This did help a little bit but wasted some time doing this as once you have this downloaded, when you open it, it has a white box around it. So the more fonts you use the longer it takes to organize.

These are all the main websites or programs I have been using to get most of the details for my work. There are more programs such as Microsoft word, PowerPoint and a few more that have helped me with it as well. These have all been very helpful as they are free to use with the college computers, and if I needed any writing or text done these would be first in line to use to get it done. Most of the stuff I used on any of these programs were easily uploaded and put on one of the above programs or websites.
